NI based family business Berlin Clothing has reported over 300% increase in online sales since the launch of a new and upgraded Magento website created by Flint Studios.
Online sales were fuelled by a 54% increase in website traffic between the launch of the new website at the end of 2015 and the end of December 2017.
The exclusive Berlin Clothing boutiques in Newtownards and Carryduff, which were established in the early 2000s, host a collection of clothing, personally sourced worldwide, with brands such as Alembika, Ilse Jacobsen, Masai, Sandwich, YaYa and Yest offering a truly unique fashion experience for its customers.
As the business has grown, so has demand for a more sophisticated online offering. Berlin Clothing approached Flint Studios with a vision to keep fashion at the fingertips of its customers by upgrading the existing site to a more modern, easier to navigate platform.
Gareth Mills, Director at Berlin Clothing, said:
“At Berlin Clothing, first class customer experience is our main priority. We receive new additions to our store every week and it is vitally important that we are able to make them available to all customers in-store and online as quickly as possible.
“Our original website was not as user-friendly as it could have been, we wanted to make a modern and attractive site, to complement our clothes. We approached Flint Studios with our thoughts and vision for the company online, placing great emphasis on the user experience and customer journey.
“The results have been amazing and since launching the new site in January 2016. In June of this year we recorded our best month ever for both instore and online sales, an increase of 41% on the best month in 2015 with our previous site.
“Not only is the upgraded site easy to use and fully compatible with mobile devices, but it created a significant reduction in administrative work for us, meaning we could focus on our clothes and our customers.”
Flint Studios, named Digital Company of the Year at the 2017 Digital DNA Awards and featured in both the 2016 and 2017 Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Ireland lists, created the Magento website for Berlin Clothing to enhance its online customer experience.
The new site has since seen a huge lift across all online activity with a 181% increase in e-commerce conversion rate.
With a team of 30 skilled, technical, creative and digital specialists, Flint Studios specialises in user experience, systems integration and measurement delivering results-driven web solutions for an ever-growing, varied client base.
Jeremy Biggerstaff, Managing Director at Flint Studios, said:
“Berlin Clothing wanted a website that complemented its excellent customer offering and allowed a full experience of the team’s dedicated service and diverse range of products.
“We created a site that was modern, sleek and simple for customers to use, but one which also gives a true sense of Berlin Clothing.
“After consultations with the team, we formed a unique website to meet the company’s needs. We converted the site to Magento and revisited the design and user experience creating simple navigation and product filters to create a quick and hassle free shopping experience.
“With new Electronic Point of Sale (EPoS) integration, not only is the site easy to navigate, but the company’s administration has reduced dramatically. Over the last two years through utilising the dedicated Magento platform and Magento Community, Berlin clothing has also seen a dramatic uplift in online engagement.
“We will continue to work with Berlin Clothing, as with all our clients, to ensure high online performance levels across the website.”
