Evie Loughery, Primary Five pupil in Miss Courtenay’s class at Strandtown Primary School, Belfast beat over 600 other entries to have her Honda Civic design brought to life!

The Donnelly Group, Northern Ireland’s largest new and used independent vehicle dealership, teamed up with NI4Kids Magazine earlier this year to celebrate the arrival of the all-new 2017 Honda Civic.

The Group set a challenge to all Primary School pupils across Northern Ireland to enter an art competition in the first few month of the year. Entrants were invited to design their own Honda Civic, with the winner seeing their unique creation come to life.

Evie’s brightly coloured and personalised design of the Honda Civic caught the eye of the judges who crowned her the winner of the design competition.

Tommy Bowe, Donnelly Group Ambassador, and Raymond Donnelly, Donnelly Group Director made a very special visit to Strandtown Primary School in Belfast at the start of June to present Evie and her class with a Honda Civic, complete with her very own design!

Paul Compton, Group Franchise Manager at Donnelly Group Honda, said:

“This was the first competition of its kind in the Donnelly Group! To celebrate the tenth generation Honda Civic arriving in Northern Ireland, we asked all Primary Schools to ‘Dare to be Different’ and to come up with their most creative and cool car designs.

“The Honda Civic is an extremely sought-after model in Northern Ireland and we thought we would do something different to welcome the new edition. With the re-imagining of the model, the Honda Civic offers flexible interior space, a choice of new engines and a unique suite of advanced safety features, alongside a distinctive stand-out design, like Evie’s.

“The creativity displayed by all entrants was incredible, but in the end, Evie’s design really impressed us and we felt it would look fantastic on the new model – we weren’t wrong.”

Evie’s teacher Miss Courtenay was even more surprised to hear she would be able hit the road and drive the car around for a week in June! Alongside seeing the design come to life, Evie’s class received vouchers to spend on technology equipment for their school from the Donnelly Group.

The new Honda Civic is now available in Donnelly Honda locations, Ballymena, Belfast, Dungannon and Eglinton. Donnelly Honda is committed to providing value for money to their customers and an excellent level of customer service, which is second to none.
