Digital Company of the Year Flint Studios establishes GB base through merger

A Belfast-based digital agency has established a presence in Great Britain through a merger with Cheshire-based Link Information Technology Ltd., a specialist provider of web solutions.

Flint Studios, which has been crowned Digital Company of the Year at the Digital DNA Awards earlier this week, announced the merger would expand its web development capabilities whilst immediately increasing its client base by approximately 50%.

Jeremy Biggerstaff, Managing Director at Flint Studios, said:

“The amalgamation of the two companies will see us operate collectively under the Flint Studios entity with permanent office premises in the Sci-Tech Daresbury Innovation Centre complementing our new Belfast Ravenhill Road base.

“It brings together two established web service companies to create a team of 30 experienced professionals, supporting clients across the UK and Ireland. The combined capabilities means we can deliver Magento, Umbraco, Kentico and bespoke solutions backed up with our Google Partner accreditation.

“Working together, we will continue to provide a fresh approach to web design, development and digital marketing with exceptional customer support, dedicated account management and superior aftercare.

“I am delighted that long-standing owners Neil Marshall and Rob Antrobus will remain very much involved with operations and play an important role in the growth and development of the entire company moving forward.

“Our team is bursting with experience and creative digital talent which is reflected in our ability to adapt to new technology and provide tailored solutions for almost 200 clients. Rob and Neil’s expertise in a variety of technologies will remain invaluable to this.

“Our collective focus now is to further expand our presence in Great Britain, and indeed

Europe, across the sectors where our strengths prevail.”

Specialising in user experience, systems integration and measurement, Flint Studios was the sole Northern Irish company to secure a place in the Deloitte Technology Fast 500™ EMEA (Europe Middle East and Africa) 2016 list, in addition to ranking 13 in the 2016 Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Ireland list.

Rob Antrobus, Director at Link Information Technology Ltd. which began its journey in information technology in the late nineties, said:

“Link Information Technology has established itself as a leader in delivering cost effective, innovative technology solutions with an enviable client base.

“Both Link Information Technology and Flint Studios pride themselves on the ability to listen to our customers and deliver technology solutions that assist with their business in increasing online profile.

“Merging with Flint Studios and working together alongside its strong team makes us a much stronger entity with a wider range of capabilities and expertise to deliver on behalf of clients and continue to exceed expectations time and time again.”

The company’s combined client base includes Plimsoll Publishing, Mary Peters Trust, Berlin Clothing, Survitec Group, STFC, and digitalprinting.co.uk for which Flint Studios’ work won the DANI Award for Best Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) Campaign having witnessed double-digit growth in online revenue year on year.

Mark Thompson, Partner at corporate law firm A&L Goodbody, which acted on behalf of Flint Studios in the purchase said:

“For many years A&L Goodbody has worked with the local business community in relation to their business activities both in Northern Ireland and beyond.

“Our Mergers and Acquisitions team were delighted to provide specialist advice to Flint Studios as they expand into the GB market.

“The deal provides huge opportunities for all those involved and we look forward to supporting Flint Studios as it continues with the progression of its growth strategy.”

Most recently, Flint Studios named ‘Digital Company of the Year’ at the Digital DNA Awards on 6th June.

Jeremy added:

“We are thrilled to have been named Digital Company of the Year. It is a prestigious award which really recognises our impressive performance within the digital sector.

“As a performance-driven agency, we strive to boost online conversion, sales and gross margins for all of our clients with combined revenue for our e-commerce websites exceeding £5 million in 2016.

“Thanks to our dedicated and innovative team and strong partnerships with our clients we have continued to grow and develop as an agency and are delighted our efforts have been recognised.”

The company also recently beat off competition from agencies from across Europe to win a contract with the global cyber security and privacy company F-Secure Corporation, further expanding its European credentials.
