Portview completes £3.2 million Arsenal contract

Portview, the Belfast-based leading interior fit-out and refurbishment specialist, has just completed a £3.2 million contract at Emirates Stadium, the home of Arsenal Football Club.

The redevelopment work of a section of Club Level, a premium tier of 7,000 seats plus bars and restaurants, was completed by Portview in the closed season, in time for Arsenal’s first home game of the 2010/11 football season.

Aimed at fulfilling Arsenal’s vision of improving the premier facilities and integrating the Club’s history into the stadium, Portview undertook a complete re-fit of the Woolwich Suite in Club Level. It includes an à la carte restaurant named the WM Club, a luxurious new restaurant called The Foundry and the refurbishment of the Legends Bar, the ultimate sports bar experience.

The new facilities celebrate the achievements of key figures in Arsenal’s history and were designed by London based design agency 20/20 with which Portview worked closely to realise the Club’s vision.

Portview’s Managing Director Alan Davison said: “We’re delighted to add Arsenal Football Club to our extensive and growing client list. It was great to be involved in a project which celebrates the Club’s successes and looks to the future by providing cutting-edge facilities for fans.

“Customer satisfaction remains Portview’s key priority and we place a strong emphasis on high quality workmanship.

“Project management with attention to detail is the basis on which we have built excellent working relationships with our clients who continue to avail of our services year-on-year.”

Angus Kinnear, Arsenal Football Club’s Marketing Director, said: “Portview has delivered our vision for the redevelopment of areas of Club Level through luxurious facilities finished to the highest specifications which will set the standard for others to follow.

“Their professionalism, flexibility and one team approach ensured that this project ran smoothly throughout the tight 11 week window for the build. We are sure that the ticketholders in these areas will appreciate the attention to detail in the transformation of the Club Level.”

Portview, which was established in 1975 and employs 55 people, has vast experience in delivering quality, high specification projects for a range of high street brands throughout the UK and Ireland.

Despite the tough economic conditions, Portview’s Alan Davison says the order book for 2010 is very healthy.

“Last year we completed contracts across the UK and Ireland worth £14 million. While this wasn’t indicative of the fit-out industry as a whole, it’s fair to say we’re bucking the downward turn in the construction sector due to loyal customers, repeat business and taking advantage of new projects such as the Emirates Stadium.

“This year turnover looks set to top £22 million with a number of high profile and exciting projects in the pipeline.”
